The benefits of using a Snow Foam
For many car owners, the winter months represent a car care challenge! Rain, mud, salt and many other contaminants regularly bond themselves to the paintwork of your vehicle. Whilst there is no way of avoiding this build-up of grime on the paint, it is important to ensure that your remove it safely and effectively. This will help reduce the chance of inflicting marring and swirls.
Snow Foam is a detergent that is used as part of the washing process, before the contact wash. Snow Foams are formulated to be applied directly to paint, cling onto the dirt and then safely break it down. Gtechniq’s Snow Foam is a citrus degreaser combined with a foaming agent, that excels at quickly and effectively loosening and removing dirt from the surface. Its slightly alkaline formula has been designed in such a way that it is also very effective at removing organic matter (bugs and flies) as well as all road grime. The bonus is that it is coating, wax, and sealant safe.
How much actual product you put in the bottle will depend on the size of your foam cannon hopper. The Gtechniq Snow Foam should be diluted at a ratio of 1:10 with water, follow this ratio you will not go far wrong. Once your snow foam hopper is full of solution, apply to the vehicle, starting at the bottom and working your way to the top. This product can be applied to many surfaces, including glass, exhausts, and plastics. Allow the product to dwell on the surface for up to 5 minutes and then rinse off the remaining foam with clean water.
Once you have applied and removed the foam, it is time to break out the wash mitt and shampoo.
If I have snow foamed the car, do I still need to wash it? The short answer is yes. Snow foams are very effective cleaners but do not replace the good old hand wash. Typically, the two will go hand in hand and work together, especially on heavily soiled vehicles.
