1977 Porsche 911SC by Gtechniq Works

It’s not often we see classics come to the Gtechniq Works, but when we had the opportunity to detail and coat @911_spy’s 1977 Porsche 911SC we just had to bring it in.
James, the owner, won this full detail through a competition that was run through Lockton’s insurance.

The owner has had the car for many years and uses it extensively for European road trips and at weekends (when the weather allows). He enjoys the authentic and pure driving experience of the 911SC.
It is fair to say that this 911 paint had seen better days. Once inspected we decided to opt for a two-stage polish to enhance the paintwork.
Before applying any coating it is important to ensure that any scratches, swirls and paint defects are removed. As you can see in the image below, removing these ‘below surface defects’ can transform the paint.

Once the paint had been corrected, it was time to protect it with a layer of our Crystal Serum Light. When it comes to adding gloss, resisting swirls, contaminant and dirt repellency, Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light is our go-to consumer coating.

Once the paint was coated it was time to coat and protect the wheels.
We applied our signature C5 Wheel Armour, which repels brake dust making ongoing wheel maintenance quick and easy.
C5 has been designed specifically for wheels and retains its integrity up to temperatures of 600 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for all parts of the wheel and callipers.
C5 Wheel Armour typically offers up to 2 years’ worth of durability. To complete the look, the tyres were coated in T1 Tyre & Trim.

The interior was thoroughly cleaned with our bacteria busting I2 Tri-Clean, which kills 99.9% of bacteria. As well as killing bacteria, Tri-Clean offers phenomenal cleaning power and superb odour elimination chemistry, leaving the interior smelling minty fresh.
All the glass was cleaned with our G6 Perfect Glass.
