Use A Pressure Washer
The first place to start will be using a pressure washer, as this is a perfect way to remove the loose dirt and grime sitting on the surface of the wheel. This means that when you apply product to the surface, the product works faster and is far more effective at breaking down brake dust a grime leaving you with a sparkling surface.
Apply Gtechniq’s Iron & Fallout Remover
Our GWash car shampoo is one of the leading car-washing products on the market. Begin by shaking the GWash well before use. Add between 2-4 caps (20-40ml), depending on how dirty your car is, and add 20 litres of water to the basin or bucket. While you can use cold water, you will achieve much better results if you add warm water to the shampoo. Once you have prepared the car shampoo, it’s time to get to work on your vehicle.
Apply Gtechniq’s Iron & Fallout Remover
The next port of call is properly applying the W6 Iron & Fallout Remover. The benefit of using this on your alloys is that it has been specifically formulated to break down metal depositis making wheel cleaning much quicker and easier.
Once you have hosed down the wheels, apply W6 Iron & Fallout Remover to the wheels and leave to dwell for around 3 – 5 minutes and it will then start to form a purple liquid. Once you start to see the product turn purple, leave it for another minute then rinse thoroughly with water and the process can be repeated if you are not fully satisfied from the first attempt.
This product can be used in tandem with other Gtechniq products and importantly does not strip coatings or waxes. Iron & Fallout remover can also be used on paint and glass.
